Hello, Amador County community!
As a member of the Amador County community, I am thrilled to step into the role of the new principal at Jackson Junior High. My journey in this community began in the summer of 1991 when my family relocated here after purchasing the funeral home in Pine Grove. I was an 8th grader at Jackson Junior High and later graduated from Amador High, so this community holds a special place in my heart.
I went on to UC Berkeley and got a degree in Biology, and it was during that time I realized teaching was my true calling. I taught junior high science in Hayward and Sacramento before returning to Amador County to teach and raise my family.
Over the years, I’ve taught at Argonaut High and Jackson Junior High, and I’ve also worked at our district office as a Teacher on Special Assignment and as the Director of Student Success in the Educational Services Department. Last year, I found my way back to a junior high campus as the Vice Principal of Ione Junior High, where I was reminded how much I love the daily interactions with kids—especially middle school kids, who are the funniest people on the planet.
My family and I are deeply rooted in this community. My daughter just graduated from Argonaut High, my son is in the 8th grade at Jackson Junior, and my husband is an elementary teacher. We love Amador County and especially the close-knit family we’ve found at Jackson Junior High.
I am deeply committed to this community and our students. I am excited to serve as your principal and am dedicated to working with you to support and inspire our students. Thank you for welcoming me back to Jackson Junior High.
