The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

No School on Friday, November 1st
We wanted to send a friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday, November 1st. Our offices will be closed as well. We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

School Bus Safety Week
October 21-25 is School Bus Safety Week! This month, our transportation department conducted its annual school bus evacuation drills at schools across the district.

Perspectives - Conversations with Women in Elected Offices
The AAUW Amador Branch is hosting a panel of local women who will share their experiences as elected officials. Free to attend, no RSVP necessary.

Cultural Awareness Presentation
Save the date! The Native American Round Table is presenting a Cultural Awareness Presentation for those who serve our Native community on Wednesday, November 13th, 5 pm-7 pm at First 5.

School Board Updates
The next School Board meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 13, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. Open Session begins at 6:30 p.m.

Community School Supply Donation 📚
Thank you to Lava Dog Fire & Police Supply Gun Vault, UpCountry Barbers, Top Cop, and our generous community for the donation of 204 backpacks, 193 school supply kits, and hundreds of other items, which has helped us get much-needed school supplies into the hands of students!

Kindergarteners Visit the Pumpkin Patch 🎃
On the last Friday before Fall Break, Jackson Elementary kindergarteners got to visit their own pumpkin patch! Pumpkins were spread out in the park, and the students got to choose one to take home.

Students Learn Fire Safety 🚒
Students at Pine Grove Elementary attended a Fire Safety Assembly hosted by Amador Fire. Students got to interact with a firefighter in full gear so they wouldn't be scared if they ever have to be rescued by one. They asked him questions and learned about all of the pieces of equipment firefighters carry. They also got to see all of the tools on the firetruck!
